We are pleased to inform you of some positive developments at CESSA Universidad: Beginning of the year 2008, CESSA Universidad and Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne have enhanced the certification agreement between both Institutions. The Hotel Management Programs started to be certified in 2006. And now, as from January 1sth, 2008, the Restaurant Management Programs will be certified as well. This certification has allowed CESSA to gain EHL’s know-how acquired by over more than 115 years of hospitality education.

Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne was founded in 1893 and is thus the first hotel school in the world. EHL is a non-for-profit private foundation owned by the Swiss Hotel Association – Hotelleriesuisse. EHL has trained more than 30,000 graduates since its founding and has an active alumni network of 10,000 members in 122 countries. EHL is providing to its 1600 students from more than 80 countries, management education to the hospitality industry through 2 undergraduate programs and 1 graduate program.

CESSA is the first hospitality management education institution in Mexico since it has the Federal Ministry of Education recognition since 1976. Currently it has 750 students on two campi, the San Angel Campus and the Estado de México Campus, both in the metropolitan area of Mexico City. It offers 5 programs at undergraduate level, of which 4 are now certified by EHL. CESSA also offers continuous education and consulting services to the Latin American Hospitality industry. CESSA offers a unique learning environment as it confronts the students with the real day-to-day challenges of the Hospitality Industry thanks to its dedicated infrastructure and faculty.

The EHL certification implies that the CESSA students benefit from the possibility to spend part of their learning experience in Switzerland at EHL, but also in different parts of the world. Indeed EHL has currently certified institutions in Brazil, Lebanon, and Dubai, and more destinations are to come. The CESSA students have full access to this network. They also have access the EHL alumni associations, with more than 10,000 active alumni around the world.

As from now on, Hotel Management and Restaurant Management CESSA students gain a double recognition on their diploma, one from the CESSA Universidad, recognized at university level by the government of Mexico and the certification of Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne.
